jim, nice to hear from you. but why now, why for this problem has the manager of MM support suddenly appeared on this list? a sign... of good things to come? but i have to ask, what about the many the shortcomings in linked parts? why has MM consistently refused to clear this up or even comment on the problems? the thing has been broken and only properly usable to a portion of the users since it was first implemented in F2007 (~6 years ago!). so many cases submitted and still so many glitches. you must know that some of your users are simpy frustrated with submitting case reports and can't be bothered, it just seems pointless. and the support is so vanilla sometimes to be completely useless. i get the impression sometimes that some of the support guys have not really read my VERY detailled reports that i had imagined would have been really helpful, they ask me questions i answered already, delaying the process and showing they can't really be bothered to take their users seriously. in one case i told the support guy the likely answer to the problem and it took him 5 days to "contact development" to find out... what i had already told him, which he very helpfully told me back. another time i was told by support that he was happy that "the procedure is uncovering inroads to faster performance" putting the emphasis on the importance of me tricking the software (in this case via an accidental discovery) rather than the shortcomings of the software. when i am working on projects with deadlines and your software is being a pain in the ass, i expect to be taken seriously, since the cash i make on these jobs not only keeps me afloat, every year it helps me make my little contribution to keeping MM afloat. i SERIOUSLY looked into changing software several years ago and am sorry to say it was not the remarkable customer support or attention to detail by the developers or the water bottle and t-shirt gifts that kept me here....... thanks for considering this. i look forward to your continued presence on this forum and signs of more profound attention to the needs of your clients. jef chippewa _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
