Linda, my Mass Copy plugin should be able to clear measure attached text blocks, even if the handles don't appear. (Select the measure you want to erase them, check the "Text" option in Mass Copy, then hit Clear.) If Mass Copy can't clear the text blocks, then I'd like to get a copy of one of the offending files.
