Exactly. I had suspected some sort of MIDI note conflict, and I temporarily re-enabled the chord playback in the instrument list when I was troubleshooting and heard exactly what you are talking about with the built-in chords lasting only as long as the first note associated. But now that you explained it, it makes much more sense. Thanks.
Now that you mention about the unchecking "Enable Chord Playback" in the Chord menu and I feel like a real dummy. :-) I never saw that before! Now I don't need to mess with any of my original work-arounds for this. Works great! I'm currently using version Finale 2008.
