So I made this really nice looking score. Not my music, just making a good finale copy of the orchestration. Woodwinds, brass, everything all in place. Between the winds and strings there are two keyboard instruments... grouped, bracketed, etc. One appears just as it should in the score manager, with both staves showing. The second one not only does not appear at all... it plays back the instrument assigned to the keyboard instrument above it. both staves in the top keyboard play back correctly. But the no-staff-in-score-manager keyboard part plays the same sound. It's just missing from SM so I can't change the MIDI channel, can't assign anything to it, can't even see it. Except in the Finale score (both scroll and page view)
