Makemusic said they would have a new release in 2013.

The normal pattern would be to announce new releases in May or June so
as to get into the pipeline for the new school year. That did not happen.

Another normal pattern is to not announce anything during August because
much of the world is on vacation. August has come and gone.

Yet another normal rule would be to get any new product on the streets
by October 1 at the latest in order to catch anybody wanting to give an
upgrade as a holiday gift. If that is to happen, we should see an
announcement in the next 3 weeks. It seems a little surprising that
there are no rumblings at all about this. Has everybody just given up?

Or is a case that something won't be announced until December 31, 2013
for delivery in May 2014?

I have a list of about 7 software products I use a lot that should have
new releases before year end. If I were to upgrade all of them, that
would probably be about $2500 and in fact I will probably only spend
about $1000. At some point, secrecy can be taken too far. If I spend
my budget before MM decides to say anything, then I probably won't
upgrade Finale very soon.
