hi ryan,

compared to the lozenge used for harmonics in Maestro, the one in
neueweise Notes:
- has higher top/bottom points
- has thicker sidebars
- has better curves on the outer form
- has a width that is identical to quarter note (Maestro lozenge is
6% smaller than its quarter notehead)
- is designed with a specific relation to staffline positioning
- is 28% wider
- is 33% higher

therefore when using neueweise Notes (as opposed to Maestro):
- the lozenge is remarkably more visible in reduced scores or bad lighting
- the centre does not "fill in" when on a line and printed at reduced
percentages on inkjet :-)
- stems sit in the same horizontal position for quarter note and
lozenge noteheads
- everything just looks sexier 8-)

here is a side-by-side comparison at the same view percentage:

cheers,
jef
