In old versions of Finale, the rests show dots correctly. This broke approximately at the same time that linked parts were introduced. I complained immediately, and was told to move them all with the Special Tool.
They are blowing smoke if they claim that this is working as designed. It was acknowledged when I first reported it, then complained a couple years later that it still wasn’t fixed. They broke it, either inside Finale or with changes they made to the JazzFont (they removed è, that’s an e with an accent grave, at the same time.)
