There is a setting in Windows Explorer (which is where programs get the info for their file open/save dialogs) to show or hide system folders and files. This can be changed so that they can be seen.
in Windows 10 (can't remember where this was in previous versions of Windows) open Windows Explorer and click on the the word "View" to open the "View" ribbon and there is a checkbox beside the words "Hidden items" in the "Show/Hide" section of the ribbon. Put a checkbox in that box next to "Hiden items" and then the system32 folder should show up in Windows Explorer and also in the File/Open or File/Save dialogs. David H.
