You could go into the Edit Frame for each measure with notes you want to
mute (in Windows, ctrl-click the measure in Speedy Entry mode) and uncheck
"Playback" for each note entry.

I guess I could have the notes placet on a different layer and have that
layer muted. I'm doing that now. I wonder if there is another solution.
