I’m experiencing a strange phenomenon when I playback my latest project.

It’s an orchestral score without key signature. I used the template wizard
to create the score, with the usual transposing instruments. When I play
back what I’ve entered, the cello and the flute play ½ step higher than
written. No problem in clarinets or horns.

I’ve checked the staff and score manager settings, and they are the same as
the other instruments.

I’m using Garritan Instruments for playback; cellos are set to Cello section
KS.

It’s the latest version of Finale, with current updates.

Any ideas?

My first thought is to ask if you have restarted Finale and re-opened the project and does the problem still persist? Have you rebooted your computer? Sometimes those things fix playback problems.

My second thought is to ask if you have entered any expressions at the start where you took an existing expression, duplicated it and edited it to appear as you wish? Is it possible that the original expression had a playback attribute defined which might cause the problem?

After that I'm out of ideas.
