I paid for Dorico the day it came out. It was alphawate, at best.

Dorico 2 is betaware. If you follow it on Facebook you’ll see many concerns 
expressed.

As for SmartMusic, I must say that it’s PC/MAC version will not work with 25. I 
had to move back to 2012 to have a fully functioning file for juries. We have 
students sightread while accompanied. The iPad version is where all the effort 
is today.

We are at a watershed moment in notation. The demands of a wide audience cannot 
be met in one app. To me, flexibility is the key. Any app that can handle a 
wide audience cannot help but be complex.
