Thank you for that link -- It's hard to tell which character will be printed as the keys are all facing sideways.

My high school had a music typewriter (don't know the brand name) but in addition to the alpha-numeric keys there were additional keys for printing music. The output looked a lot like early music printing, where there were always slight interruptions between the characters printed as if each one were a woodblock placed together in a press.
