I had problems with my Lexmark printer after upgrading to High Sierra. What I earned is that not all printers are compatible with the Mac OS. Apple published a list of compatible printers when High Sierra was released. Is the HP printer in question on that list? BTW, I resolved the issue by buying a new printer.
