I'm trying to install MySQL with Fink/apt-get (apt-get install mysql). However, it's complaining about not being able to resolve my hostname. Specifically it says:
Sorry, the host 'radiob' could not be looked up. Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname. I have radiob set as the name for the machine in all the network configuration areas I know of. But, of course "radiob" is not a hostname that DNS can resolve, since this is just on my home LAN. This doesn't seem to be a problem on my Linux (RedHat) box though. I'm wondering if there is something I don't have configured right (I've been running OSX all of about two days now). I have a static IP address, and am configured "Manually" in the TCP/IP configuration in the Network System Preferences, etc. Can someone enlighten me as to what I don't have configured properly? -- Chris Bailey [EMAIL PROTECTED] - email (415) 430-2160 x4890 - voicemail/fax __________________________________________________ FREE voicemail, email, and fax...all in one place.
