Finks - I can't seem to get XEmacs up and running on my Mac. Or I should say; I can't get fink to install XEmacs on my Mac. I'm trying to run 'fink install xemacs' on my 350Mhz/PCI G4 w/Mac OS 10.1.2 (5P48). I'm using fink version (Package manager version: 0.9.7/Distribution version: 0.3.2a.cvs). I currently have XEmacs 21.1 (patch 12) running, but I'm having some issues with it.
Every time I attempt to fink install, the process aborts with failed downloads. curl returns various error codes. Primarily 9, 10 and 19. I've tried both the base and sumo distributions. I've tried every server available with no joy. According to the curl line, fink is attempting to download xemacs- base-1.56-pkg.tar.gz Yet when I manually ftp into the primary site (ftp://ftp.us.xemacs.org/), I find no xemacs- base-1.56-pkg.tar.gz available in the download directory (/pub/xemacs/packages/). I do see a xemacs-base-1.57-pkg.tar.gz, and various other distributions. How can I get fink to download the appropriate files, install, or update my copy of XEmacs. The one I have seems to have a problem displaying the file open browser. The browser dialog box appears momentarily, and then vanishes. I would like to be able to use XEmacs gui components. - Robert _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
