OK, I got xfree86-rootless to install just fine and it runs as described in the Fink docs (which I have now reread a couple of times).
When I ask Fink to install wxgtk, here's what I get after the download and setup attempt: checking for gcc... no checking for cc... cc checking whether the C compiler (cc -no-cpp-precomp -I/sw/include -L/sw/lib) works... no configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables. ### failed, exit code 1 Failed: compiling freetype-1.3.1-4 failed OK, I get that I must be missing a compiler or some such but I'm darned if I can find any information about this on the Fink site. I have installed all of the Apple-supplied developer tools off the Developer CD. and I didn't answer any questions funky, so I can't track this one. Thanks for the help, BTW.
