Hi everybody, I just discovered something related to my Gnome-Problem:
I installed Gnome, while the "unstable" tree was activated in my fink.conf file. I thought that this would not make a difference, because on the fink website the package "bundle-gnome" is listed as the same version number in stable and unstable. So I thought I would get the same thing, whether unstable was included in the "fink.conf"-File or not. *BUT*: The packages that "bundle-gnome" installs, *DO* have different version numbers in stable/unstable. I checked my installation and found out that I really have the versions from *unstable* installed!!! This means especially "gdk-pixbuf" and "gdk-pixbuf-shli" Version 0.16.x (unstable) instead of 0.11.x (stable)... Could it be that the missing file "libpixbuf-png.so" is located in one of those packages (it's just the similar sounding names...)? Gnome depends on those packages, so fink won't let me remove them... Do I have to uninstall everything now and install again from stable? Is anyone out there successfully using Gnome from unstable? Especially to Chris Devers: I know from the listing you placed online (*thank you!*), that you're using the unstable tree, too. Did you activate the unstable tree when installing gnome? Cheers, hope we're getting closer to a solution, Andreas _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
