Hi everybody,

Sorry to bother you again with my frustration over Gnome, but I failed again
in setting in up. I'm really desperate now and close to giving up :(
(Maybe I should just accept to live without it... :/)

After Masanori Sekino posted that the control-center bug was fixed, I really
hoped that it would work this time. To make sure that my install was
"clean", I removed all of fink *and* XFree86 again (time is the only thing I
have and luckily fink works mostly unattended) and installed new from
scratch. I installed the following packages in the order listed below:

1. fink (obviously...)
2. anacron
3. fileutils
4. findutils
5. grep
6. wget
7. xfree86-base
8. xfree86-rootless
9. bundle-gnome

Anything wrong with it so far? Well, I let the Gnome installation work over
night, and here is what I saw when I get up the next morning:

(last lines of terminal output:)

/usr/bin/ld: warning -L: directory name

If anybody could help me I would greatly appreciate it. I don't see what I
am doing wrong -- I hardly see any chance of doing anything wrong in the
installation process, in theory it really seems to be simple. But I just
cannot make it work... As stated above, I started with a clean fink install,
so there should be nothing interfering. My XFree86 installation works fine
with OroborOSX, which I didn't remove (but from what I understand, this
cannot possibly interfere either...)

Anything else I installed with fink previously was success at first try; I
really want to thank everybody working for this project. I know that it is
not easy and appreciate the time and effort that people spend to make fink
possible.

Andreas
