I've got Gnome up and running, complete with all the bells and chirping sounds when you click on various things. I thought I'd try out the XMMS (the iTunes equivalent, correct?) I can select songs from my normal Music directory, and they seem to play (ie you can see the visual display of the audio), but I get no sound, even with the volume cranked. After 30 seconds or so, it will stop (songs are longer than that) . My computer is an oldie, so the load of running OSX and Gnome/XDarwin at once + a mp3 player with eq may be too much for it, but... no sound at all?! Any ideas what's going on here?
