No! This would remove your record of all available packages, and would
have to be recreated the next time you wanted to use Fink.

Again no, because this folder contains nothing more than symlinks to the
actual .deb files. The symlinks collectively don't take up much space --
maybe a megabyte on the huge side, and probably much less than that.

On the other hand, if you're careful you can remove the .deb files that
are linked in your /sw/fink/debs dir ("ls -la /sw/fink/debs" will show you
where they all are, lots of 'binary-darwin-powerpc' dirs under /sw/fink),
but it you may end up corrupting Fink's database if you remove anything
that is currently installed, if you break any symlinks, etc. In short this
can be done, but you have to go slowly and make sure things don't break.
