Thanks to those who answered me Thanks to those who didn't jump on me for being off subject : )
My general impression is that Fink users are cross pollinated Most have both *nix and Apple background experiences Fink kind of seems like a GNU folks thing, Apple abled. Question 2: What hath Steve wrought? There seems to be three main camps in the world today (the order is for a pretty format, nothing else, forgive) Apple Microsoft Gnu/Linux/FreeBSD/what's left of Unix (my apology to Amiga, Atari, et al : ) Based on date X user % figures and slowing PC sales Everybody can't win here, there has to be one or more losers Steve's next (sorry, couldn't resist : ) new thing, OS X Seems like a huge gamble to me, it could be either A. Fink (etc) brings lots of good free apps to Mac, Apple sales increase B. Fink turns Apple users on to Gnu/Linux/xBSD/etc, everybody leaves OS X seems pivotal, but I don't know how exactly Any thoughts? _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes?
