Quoting Matt Stephenson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Have you tried installing the binaries eg "sudo apt-get install gimp"????
Tried that - it couldn't find the GIMP. [icable-ft-dhcp20:/sw/src] steveh% sudo apt-get install gimp Password: Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done E: Couldn't find package gimp > Also run "fink selfupdate-cvs" to get the latest package descriptions. This also failed. ...Now logging into the CVS server. When CVS asks you for a password, just press return (i.e. the password is empty). su steveh -c 'cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/fink login' cvs: Command not found. ### su failed, exit code 1 Failed: Logging into the CVS server for anonymous read-only access failed. > If you want to install from source you need the developer tools > installed, if your happy using binaries you don't need them. I would be delighted to stick to binaries. If it only worked... I tried both of the above several times. I also tried uninstalling Fink and downloading a fresh version. > HTH > Matt Steve ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas - http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm?source=osdntextlink _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
