I think you might want to install "XFree86 rootless". XDarwin will be installed with XFree86, the system that will give you a graphical user interface that will sit alongside Aqua, OS X's native one.
On the other hand, since you installed KDE, which from what I've seen is a desktop environment, you'll probably want to run XFree86 in its non-rootless mode (whatever that is called), because that way you'll get a desktop. Would someone please fill in this info? Try this: type startx -- -quartz in the terminal and tell me what happens..
