I've been using 10.1.5 on a couple of systems since it appeared (and
10.1.x, before that, in order...). I've seen nothing like this problem,
and the system seems pretty stable to me. I do a lot of heavy
compilation (C++ [yuck] libraries for number theory; kernel builds; ...)
and number theoretic computations which can go on for hours and days.
I've had no significant problems (if you discount the screwing around at
the keyboard...). I also have used fink a fair amount for (libraries
and packages for) related work.
