I had similar problems right after I upgraded to 10.1.5, but only
within a few (apparently random) apps. If I saved my work
frequently, the problem seemed to decrease. When it had been
happening, rebooting seemed to make things better for a while, too.
Then I bought Alsoft's DiskWarrior, and it found some problems with
my hard disk ("bad sibling link" type stuff). I fixed all of that,
and things seem to be doing pretty well now. Some other people had
been reporting similar trouble since upgrading to 10.1.5 (see, e.g.,
the macosxhints.com forums), but not everyone by a long shot, so it's
not clear what exactly the problem is.
Good luck.
