So I tried to install the bundle-kde-ssl package two nights ago, only to have the installation end with this error yesterday:
dpkg: regarding .../kdelibs3-ssl_3.0.7-4_darwin-powerpc.deb containing kdelibs3-ssl: kdelibs3 conflicts with keramik kdelibs3-ssl provides keramik and is to be installed. dpkg: error processing /sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/kdelibs3-ssl_3.0.7-4_darw in-powerpc.deb (--install): conflicting packages - not installing kdelibs3-ssl Selecting previously deselected package kdelibs3-ssl-dev. dpkg: regarding .../kdelibs3-ssl-dev_3.0.7-4_darwin-powerpc.deb containing kdelibs3-ssl-dev: kdelibs3-ssl-dev conflicts with kdelibs3 kdelibs3 (version 3.0.7-4) is installed. dpkg: error processing /sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/kdelibs3-ssl-dev_3.0.7-4_ darwin-powerpc.deb (--install): conflicting packages - not installing kdelibs3-ssl-dev Errors were encountered while processing: /sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/kdelibs3-ssl_3.0.7-4_dar win-powerpc.deb /sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/kdelibs3-ssl-dev_3.0.7-4 _darwin-powerpc.deb ### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 1 Failed: can't batch-install packages: /sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/kdelibs3-ssl_3.0.7-4_darw in-powerpc.deb /sw/fink/dists/stable/crypto/binary-darwin-powerpc/kdelibs3-ssl-dev_3.0.7-4_ darwin-powerpc.deb I assumed that means I should remove the kdelibs3 and kdelibs3-dev packages (which I did not explicitly install). So I did with this command: "sudo dpkg -r --force-depends kdelibs3 kdelibs3-dev." Then I manually installed the kdelibs3-ssl and kdelibs3-dev-ssl packages without any errors. Now wanting to make sure that all the packages in the original bundle-kde-ssl were installed properly, I did a "fink list kde" and looked to see if there was an "i" next to it. There wasn't. Not knowing what else to do, I ran "fink install bundle-kde-ssl" again and it looked like it had to reinstall EVERYTHING and took all night of course. But it worked. Was there something else I could/should have done? Thanks. ---Roger ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
