I went to install the Fink 0.5.0a package, but the read me file said"

 "Do not use this installer if you have MacGIMP or OpenOSX.coms GIMP
package installed."

At some point I apparently did install GIMP, because several files
containing "gimp" in the filename are present. However, I have to admit I
don't know whether they are MacGIMP or OpenOSX.com GIMP files.

What is the problem with installing Fink in the presence of a previous
installation of GIMP? Would it be best to first delete all GIMP related
files, or will this cause problems (I don't think any other applications are
GIMP dependent at this point). Is there a workaround to enable me to use
the Fink install package?

I've searched the documentation, mailing lists, etc. and cannot seem to find
any info about this.

Any suggestions or pointers to documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn
