Title: KDE problems
I have a powerbook running 10.2.2 and wanted to install fink and kde.  I had fink installed on a previous pb with no problems but now I’m having some.  I followed the instructions on the website and installed the release of fink compatible with 10.2.2.  I then installed xfree86 – rootless as per the same instructions.  I then used fink to install kdebase.  All went well, I created a .xinitrc in root per the instructions in http://fink.sourceforge.net/news/kde.php.  When I clicked on the xdarwin icon in my apps folder, the windowmanager will start but I then get a window with the folllowing errors:  ‘couldn’t start kdeinit. Check your installation.’  clicking on ‘ok’ brings up another dialogue box with ‘couldn’t start ksmserver. Check your installation.’  xdarwin then quits.  Starting from the terminal via startx -- -quartz or via startx -- -quartz –rootless produce more error readings.  Any help would be much apprciated.

Thank you!

Ryan
