Recently upgraded to Jaguar. Lost my X windows capability. Scoured the web and finally reinstalled xfree86 and the patches and everything works like a charm. I downloaded the files from the Xdarwin site. Now when I use fink, it tells me that xfree86 is not installed and that it will need to install the application (because of a dependency). It mentioned something about letting the program know that I wanted to keep my original installation but I wasn't clear on how to do that.Install the fink system-xfree86 which acts as placeholder for a manually installed xfree86.
In short form, my question is "How do I let fink know that I already have xfree86 installed?"
