[Fink-beginners] Solution to problem compiling xfree86/xdvi

At first I was not able to compile xdvi-22.69-1 due to an error that looked like this:

ld: Undefined symbols:
_XpmReadFileToPixmap
make: *** [xdvi] Error 1
### execution of make failed, exit code 2
Failed: compiling xdvi-22.69-1 failed

With Dave Morrison's kind help, we found that my installation of xfree86-base-threaded-shlibs was faulty, even though I had received no error messages when I first compiled it. In particular, in my /usr/X11R6/lib/ directory, I was missing some important library files. (I'm not sure which ones, but apparently there should be somewhat more than 68 files in that directory.)

The solution was to "fink reinstall xfree86-base-threaded-shlibs", after which xdvi was able to compile.

This entire exercise was conducted with fink 0.5a on MacOS X 10.2.2 with the July 2002 Apple Developer Tools and the August and October Developer Tools updates.
