For what it's worth, I recently:
- upgraded to 10.2.3 from 10.2.1 (using software upgrade)
- upgraded to the Dec. developers' tools release (downloaded and
installed)
- installed the latest version of Fink (0.5a I believe) - I DIDN'T have an
earlier version installed
- used Fink to install the x- binaries (rootless version)
- downloaded and installed the Ouroborus window manager (designed
specifically to have a mac-like interface)
- installed freeciv - a game that uses the X interface

so far

none so far

Note: I have not installed anything fancy that runs under X (e.g. KDE or
Gnome).
