Once you have run selfupdate-cvs once, any subsequent selfupdate does exactly the same thing as selfupdate-cvs.
selfupdate looks whether there exists a directory named CVS in /sw/fink.
If yes, it behaves as selfupdate-cvs, if no, it only looks for new point releases.
