Title: Install & Use Problems, Privs?

Hi, I’m having some problems installing and using Fink.  I’ve installed and used it fine in the past, but have since erased and not used it in a while.

When I follow the installation instructions, everything seems to go fine, but then the problems begin.

I have trouble editing my .cshrc file (or rather, saving the edited file) unless I sudo pico.

Then when I run fink the command isn’t recognized.

I’m running OSX 10.2.3

This sounds to me like a privileges problem, but I’ve tried repairing the privileges using Apple’s Disk Utility and that doesn’t seem to help.  

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

PS—I’ve also been having problems where my IE settings (like tab to fields only) aren’t remembered by IE, so this again points to the privileges problem, but I can’t seem to fix it.  Thanks for your assistance!
