Okay everyone --

I've made the move to 10.2.3, and have the Dec. 2002 dev tools installed. I tried to follow the standard path to upgrade fink. This was unsuccessful. After beating my head against this problem all day, I decided to rm -rf my entire /sw directory and reinstalled fink from the binary.

The same error I was getting before is the one I'm getting now. Most of my packages compile until I get to system-xfree86, and then I get this gem:

Unpacking system-xfree86 (from .../system-xfree86_4.2-1_darwin-powerpc.deb) ...

dpkg: error processing /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/x11-system/system- xfree86_4.2-1_darwin-powerpc.deb (--install):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/x11-system/system- xfree86_4.2-1_darwin-powerpc.deb
### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 1
Failed: can't install package system-xfree86-4.2-1

Anyone have any ideas as to what's going wrong here and how I resolve it? This is driving me batty.

Thanks for your time.
