I believe Oroborus was a snake that ate itself starting at its tail, though I can't imagine what happen once it got to its head.I believe he was asking about oroborus the X11 window manager, which is what OroborOSX was based on (OroborOSX is basically a fork of the oroborus codebase which incorporates a bunch of apple-specific additions). There are 2 packages for it (oroborus and oroborus2), one for the old version that OroborOSX was based on, and the other for the new development going on on oroborus2.
OroborOSX is a windows manager that will work with X11. It is designed to run with XFree86 4.2.1.1 but I think Adrian is working hard to get a version compatible with Apple's X11. Yo might shoot him an email. The homepage for OroborOSX with lots of documentation can be found at http://oroborosx.sourceforge.net/
Unfortunately, I am only qualified to clear that up. I have not run either of them myself so I don't know anything about them beyond what I've said. =)
