Yes, the issue is pretty messy, and my intention was to indicate the two things:
1. explain the nature of CVS packages
2. the fact that he can go back to stable packages,
as far as he wants to, by refreshing his install.
I wasn't explicit about the second point. Sorry for potential confusions.
Also, as you poited out, FinkCommander is a reasonable and effective solution.
