That was the problem, thanks.  I don't remember ever editing the fink.conf
file manually.  I think when I set it up the first time I just told it that
I wanted the unstable tree activated.  When I inspected the file I saw a
mistake that I think the installer created.  There was a missing slash in
the "Trees" line. The last entry in this line was "unstable crypto" instead
of "unstable/crypto".  I changed that line, did a new selfupdate-cvs and the
missing files have now appeared.
