[Fink-beginners] can't selfupdate (cvs: Command not found)

hi

i'm having some trouble to update fink:

su paololazzeri -c 'cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/fink login'
cvs: Command not found.
### execution of su failed, exit code 1
Failed: Logging into the CVS server for anonymous read-only access failed.
[localhost:~] paololazzeri%

some issues (they might interact):
- i just upgraded to 10.2.4, but i had to reinstall the 10.2.1 from dvd because of the system being unable to reboot. then upgraded again
- the prompt in the terminal changed from
[paolo:~] paololazzeri%
to
[localhost:~] paololazzeri%

what does it mean, why did it changed?
