Hi,

Have you (re)installed tetex-texmf, too? The file latex.fmt is installed by this package into /sw/share/texmf/source/latex/platex/

Anyway, removed xdvi, updated tetex separately (removed it in fact and reinstalled) and gnuplot still can't find latex.fmt
