I originally told people in the FAQ to edit .tcshrc . The problem is partly historical: because of the initial choice, there are many references to .cshrc in the documentation, both online and internal; it's much easier to stick with .cshrc as the "standerd" place to set your fink environment, and then source it within .tcshrc if needed. > I've just seen also that the installation instructions on the > "Fink-installation-First time" page at > http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/bundled/install-first.php are rather > complex, dealing with compiling Fink from source and Developper tools > being needed, and not mentionning the ready-to-use binary package. > There should be a link to > http://fink.sourceforge.net/download/index.php at the top of the page > for users who don't want to install Fink from source (and I guess > most beginners don't). > Noted. > If one of the Fink Help pages maintainer is reading this, could you > please update the above pages? > Or can anybody either forward the above suggestions to the people who > maintain the Fink Documentation? > > Thanks in advance and best regards, > > Hervé > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Scholarships for Techies! > Can't afford IT training?
