If you delete all of /usr, your BSD core will be destroyed!  I'm not sure
what that does to the Finder and the like, but you'll never be able to
install fink, X11 or TexShop again.

If you want to delete Apple X11, you can delete /usr/X11R6.  Be sure to
remove the system-xfree86 package as well, if you are going to keep your
fink installation intact.

If you want to remove the tetex that is suggested with Texshop, all of
those files are in subdirectories of /usr/local--keep in mind that you may
have other things there, too.

You can make TEXShop use the fink TeteX by modifying the TeX paths in the
Preferences.  I'm not at a mac right now, so I can't be more specific, but
I'll follow up tomorrow when I get to work, unless some other reader posts
the info tonight.

One last note:  you may be able to free up some space with "fink cleanup".
Also, you can delete any of the source tarballs in /sw/src, and any .deb
files too.
