I have gotten Gnome2 installed on my machine via bundle-gnome and all is OK (could be better but OK). I had a bottom panel on the screen to start, but I think I may have accidentally deleted it, when I thought I was just deleting something in the panel (I was not sure of the terminology).Using an edge panel is correct you just don't have the tool that shows the minimised tasks.
Anyway, my question is how do I get it back?? I like having it there. I tried to create a new edge panel on bottom, but when I minimized something (nautilus), it acted as if it went to the panel that was not there anymore. Does what I said make sense? Its been bothering me for a day or so now and I have not seen any other threads on this.
Right click on the panel and find add to panel->utilities->window list

Please help. I am learning fink as I go, and seem to be catching on nicely, but this has just been eluding me. If I left anything out, just let me know. Oh, I am using x11.app and quartz-wm or metacity. However, with Metacity the top panel gets hidden... but thats another email for this list later. ;)
It is hidden if you start gnome with metacity i.e quartz-wm is not running.
I start a gnome-session with quartz-wm,
You should see the gnome menu panel below the apple menu panel.
If you really want to use metacity then in an xterminal:
>ps -ax | grep quartz-wm >kill the process from above >metacity & >quartz-wm --only-proxy &

Thanks, Brian
