Okay, I'm sorry to keep bothering you with this, but I thought I had everything set to go. I had the info and patch files in the correct places, I ran fink index, and then I tried fink install grass. The output is at the bottom of the message (by the way, things didn't work until I had postgresql-7.2.3-2 patch and info, not postgresql-7.3.2-3). Anyway, I had to choose four different "alternatives to satisfy virtual dependencies." I don't know what these mean, but so far, I've chosen
1) xfree86 rootless (I hope this is okay -- I just installed X11 from Apple)
2) unixodbc2-nox-shlibs (I'm going to run without a GUI for now)
3) freetype2-shlibs
4) giflib
Anyway, here is my output. I don't really get it because postgresql-7.3.2-3 AND postgresql-7.2.3-2 are in the correct place (I think). Should I watch for any other dependencies like this?

Looks like you need to copy across the libgnugetopt package as well, its in /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/finkinfo/libs/libgnugetopt-1.2-2.info and .patch, after you do run 'fink index' again.
