I just installed X11, Fink, and Fink Commander. Via Commander, I installed the Gimp binary. Towards the end of the install, I came up with the following error:
Fetched 23.1MB in 6m24s (60.1kB/s)

An error occurred trying to find your XFree86 installation's
version. This really shouldn't happen, so I'm bailing. :(

This was the first attempt at installing any package. Should I have installed others before attempting GIMP? I thought XFREE came on X11 so why is it saying it couldn't find it. I followed the standard X11, Fink, and Fink Commander install instructions. Also, can I run GIMP under the OS-X desktop or do I have to run it under KDE, Gnome etc.?
Thanks for the help
