This is getting frustrating. 1. Because of continuing XDarwin/Gnome 1.4 problems, I again disinstalled all apps and Fink itself. Then reinstalled Fink, xfree86-rootless, sawfish, abiword and a couple of other apps.
2. I then compiled and installed Gnome-core 2.0 and Gnome-bundle 2.0 3. I tried launching Gnome 2.0 from sawfish -- nothing. Bus error. 4. I then revised my .xinitrc file to read "exec gnome-session," and again, as in all past attempts, XDarwin just kicked me back to Aqua with this console log: 2003-06-26 19:54:59.935 XDarwin[11011] XDarwin 1.1.1.1 This is a pre-release version of XFree86, and is not supported in any way.
