Dear all,

I have a very general question (I've been reading through the FAQ and haven't seen the answer...):
There are often several packages for the same 'kind' of package, e.g.:
root3
root3-shlibs
root3-threaded
root3-threaded -shlibs
In fact, when trying to install root, Fink installs both root3 and root3-shlibs.
I suppose that if I chose root3-threaded, it would install root3-threaded -shlibs as well...

Could someone spare the time to explain what are these -shlibs and -threaded options?
It's probably so basic that I can't find the explanation in simple (for me) terms...

Thank you very much,

Manuel
