Otherwise, something else created the directory. Check and see if there's anything in it with the Finder
If you installed Virex 7.2, then you should update to Virex 7.2.1--7.2 stuck some libraries in /sw, and 7.2.1 moves them to a better location.
If there's nothing in this directory that you care about, you should flush it by running
rm -rf /sw
