I think it sounds like a very good idea. However, for the sake of completeness, I would suggest also posting such update announcements to fink-users and fink-announcements. I haven't checked, but if the User's Guide, FAQ, etc, are part of the fink cvs repository, it might also be advisable to include that list. If not, I might be advisable to make these documents part of the fink repository.
