[Fink-beginners] mplayer

Hi.  I'm new to this list.  Thank you in advance for any help you may give on this question.

Question 1:  I've been trying to install mplayer, but I always get the following error message:

WARNING: While resolving dependency "mad-shlibs" for package "mplayer-0.90.0-2", package "mad-shlibs" was not found.
Failed: Can't resolve dependency "mad-shlibs" for package "mplayer-0.90.0-2" (no matching packages/versions found)

Is there anything I can do on my end to overcome this?

Question 2:  I've also been trying to install gqview, but I get the following error message during the compilation of pango1-xft1-1.0.5-2

make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Is there something on my end that is causing this, or is this a problem with the package?
