sudo dpkg -r --force-all system-xfree86

dpkg - warning: ignoring request to remove system-xfree86 which isn't installed.
Should I [meaning is it sufficient and reasonable] just drag /sw to the trash and reinstall fink ?
Package manager version: 0.16.2
Distribution version: 0.6.2.cvs

You need to remove the old system-xfree86 package then--what you have installed is the pre-10.2 package. Use "sudo dpkg -r --force-all system-xfree86", and Fink should then create the 10.3 virtual system-xfree86 package for you.
